The Keeper Toss and Save is a practice game and warm-up that will help goal keepers improve their recovery speed after saving a shot.
Since I’m reasonably sure I invented this game, there is no video available. You’ll have to make do with my horrible illustrations.
Needs
- Goal Keeper
- Server
- 2 balls
Play
- Keeper begins at one goal post with one ball in hand (frame 1)
- Server begins at penalty spot with the other ball (frame 1)
- Keeper begins play by tossing his ball as high in the air as possible (frame 2)
- Server then immediately serves his ball toward the opposite post (frame 3)
- The keeper must make the save and recover to catch the thrown ball before 2 bounces (frame 4)
- Perform several repetitions
- Repeat with keeper beginning from opposite post
