What are some thing I can do inside my house to improve my balance, speed, and skill?
There are actually many things you can do. Here are just a few.
For balance, try this. Stand on one leg with your other leg in front of you similar to high knees. Hold that position for 5 seconds. Switch legs and do it again. Once you can do that comfortably several times, try it with your eyes closed.
Speed is going to be more difficult to practice since a lot of speed requires actually running. You can, however, work on your running form and your leg strength inside. Try doing butt kickers while jogging in place. Do the same thing with high knees.
You can practice your touch by dribbling softly around furniture or other obstacles. Just make sure they’re not breakable and that you have permission just in case. If you are already decent at juggling a soccer ball or you have a good deal of space with nothing breakable like windows around (say an empty garage) you can definitely practice your juggling. Do this just as you would outdoors.
Remember you can also work your core very effectively inside. Do sit ups and crunches as well as “planks”.
To perform a plank, lay so your body is supported but your forearms (wrists to elbows) and your toes. Your back and legs should be straight (like a wooden plank). Hold this position for 20-60 seconds.
